Freakin’ Mother Father (Tech My Brick Remix) was produced in 2024 as a new version of the track originally released on the album I Am a Dalek in 2003. The remix was released through dalek unreleased on Bandcamp on 1 April 2025.
The new version shifts the source material towards a rawer and more techno-oriented production approach. The track uses repetitive and polyrhythmic structures, a fast forward drive and an arrangement based on extended repetition. Mark Reeder’s voice from the source material remains present, while the bass guitar used in the original album version does not appear in the Tech My Brick Remix. Compared with the 2003 version, the production is more closely aligned with contemporary Raw / Hypnotic Techno.
The original Freakin’ Mother Father was created for I Am a Dalek in 2003 and was written by Corvin Dalek and Mark Reeder. The title originated from an altered line of dialogue in a censored film heard by Corvin Dalek and Mark Reeder during a flight. For the 2024 remix, this remains source context; musically, the material is transferred into a separate techno production.
The Bandcamp release forms part of dalek unreleased, a workshop archive for productions, remixes and versions outside regular release campaigns. The Tech My Brick Remix is documented there as a released work without being positioned as a regular new single.
