Let The Music Play (Corvin Dalek Remix)

Shannon’s Let The Music Play (Corvin Dalek Remix) appeared on DMC’s The Commercial Collection 221 on 6 June 2001. Commissioned by DMC, the remix appears as track 6 on the first disc of the DJ-only double-CD set. The request for the remix came through Mark Reeder.

Shannon’s existing vocal and song material remained the starting point. Working with Mark Reeder, Corvin Dalek developed a new version in which the break stayed closer to the original structure, while the surrounding sections were rebuilt within the Wet&Hard production context of the period. Shannon’s voice remained central to the arrangement.

For Corvin Dalek, the commission connected a track he already knew from the 1980s with his production work in 2001. The remix was later reissued by DMC on Best Of Diva Mixes Vol. 3.
