Stadtansichten

Stadtansichten was released by MFS on 4 August 1999 as part of the Assorted Compilation Series. Mixed by Corvin Dalek, the compilation brings together productions from the label’s contemporary techno and trance catalogue and was developed in connection with Berlin and the 1999 Loveparade.

Alongside tracks by a range of producers, the mix also includes Corvin Dalek’s own material. Pounds & Pénz appears in Flatner’s Deutsche Mark Remix, while Berlin Fly, made with Klangforschung, refers directly to Berlin in its title.

The artwork was developed together with Mark Reeder. The cover and CD booklet use Berlin as a concrete visual framework: a reworked city map replaces streets, squares and locations with the names of DJs, artists, clubs and other points of reference from the contemporary scene. Additional booklet pages extend the idea as a fictional city guide, linking real Berlin locations with the city’s club and techno culture.
