The Gallery @ Turnmills, London, 2001
This set holds a special place in my career. It was my first-ever gig in London, invited by none other than Timo Maas for his residency at The Gallery in Turnmills. On January 26, 2001, I stepped into the booth with a mix of nerves and excitement, ready to bring my horny sound to a new audience. What followed was an unforgettable night—a club packed with energy, a crowd that was bombastic, and a set that felt like an explosion.
After the gig, I sent the recording to Danny Newman, the owner of Turnmills. Little did I know that this set would become the catalyst for my career in the UK. Danny shared the mix with promoters and clubs across the country, sparking interest that led to a two-year management deal with Serious Artist Management in London.
Turnmills quickly became my home base in the UK, and The Gallery became the launchpad for an incredible journey. Over the years, I was honored to share the stage with legends like Carl Cox and Tiesto while building a connection with the Turnmills crowd that felt like family.
This mix captured the driving energy of the night, blending Acid, Progressive House, and my signature Wet&Hard sound. It was the perfect introduction to my style – pushing boundaries while keeping the dancefloor geil. Turnmills was a cultural hub, a place where music transformed into an experience. Being part of that legacy – and having my set help shape my career in the UK – is something I’ll always cherish. This recording marks the start of an incredible chapter and a journey I’m still grateful for every day.
